What is a tea pet used for?

A tea pet is a decorative figurine placed on a tea tray or beside your brewing setup. Some tea drinkers pour a little tea over it as part of their routine. This is a tea-table ritual: the figurine is not a living pet and does not need water or nutrients to stay healthy.

How to choose a tea pet

• Größe: check the dimensions and the space available on your tray.
• Material and finish: compare the actual product details rather than treating every clay or glazed figure alike.
• Design: choose a figure you enjoy seeing at your tea table. Animals and mythical creatures may carry traditional associations.
• Maker and technique: use the individual product description for any handcraft or origin claim.

How do you care for a tea pet?

Follow the maker’s care guidance for the specific material and finish. Handle the piece gently, keep your tea tray clean, and avoid leaving the figure sitting in stale tea. When pouring tea over it, keep hot water away from your hands and other fragile pieces.

Does a tea pet bring good luck?

Some designs have traditional good-luck meanings. These are cultural associations, not a promise about what a figurine will do.
