Huangshan Mao Feng is one of the top ten famous green teas in China. It was made by Xie Yutai Tea House during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty.
Mao Feng can be translated as Fur Peak. It’s because Mao Feng leaves are covered with white hairs. And the leaves are picked from the peak of Huangshan.
The high altitude mountain (700-800m) is warm and moist, surrounded by cloud and mist, making it the perfect place for growing tea trees.
The manufacture of Huangshan Mao Feng is divided into four processes: picking, shaqing, kneading, and baking.
This traditional method has been used for hundreds of years. That’s what makes Maofeng unique and high quality.
The necessary environment for tea storage are low temperature, dryness, protection from light and less oxygen.
Place the tea bags in a tin and store in the refrigerator. You can take out 1-2 weeks’ supply of tea leaves in advance. Do not take it out frequently.
If the tea can be consumed within 2 months, you can store in a cool, dry place. Avoid the direct light.
