This Qinghua Wucai hand-painted tea tray is the work of our artisit Zhang. He painted this beautiful tea tray using a complex technique called Wucai, which combine the underglaze and overglaze technique.
The story on this tea tray depicts a divine carp travelling in the vast ocean. The carp has always been a symbol of wealth and status. In ancient China, there are folk tales that said the carp leaped to the dragon gate and became a dragon, it is a wish for a successful career.
Besides being an artwork, it is also very practical in tea session. There is space inside this tea tray that could store tea water. You can also connect to a hose to drain the water.
The tea tray can also be purchased with artist Zhang’s tea set together, including a Gaiwan and two tea cups, making your tea table more consistent.
